1. About these terms
These terms are between you and Interstellar Alliance Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17544206), whose registered office is at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Interstellar Alliance Ltd, and "you" means the person or business using our website or buying from us.
These terms are in four parts:
- Part A applies to everyone who uses this website.
- Part B applies when we design, build, host or change a website for you.
- Part C explains which terms apply to our other services and products: Interstellar Mobile Mechanic, Motorlane, Motorlane Fleet, and our apps and games.
- Part D applies to all of the above.
Consumers and businesses. Some sections say different things depending on whether you're a consumer (buying for yourself, not for a business) or a business (including sole traders buying for their trade). If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, including those under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. Using this website
Information on this site
We keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but it's general information, not advice. Prices shown are starting prices to help you plan. They aren't an offer we're bound to accept, and a contract is only made as explained in section 3.
Our content
The design, text, images, logos and code on this website belong to us or the people who licensed them to us. You can view and share pages for your own use, but you mustn't copy, republish or sell any of it without our written permission.
Enquiries you send us
When you send us an enquiry, we keep the details you give us (such as your name, email, phone number and message) so we can reply and deal with your request. We use them only for that, and we never sell them or use them for marketing without your permission. You can ask us to see or delete them at any time. Our privacy policy explains this in full.
Visitor statistics
We count visits to our websites to see what's useful. This doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device. A visit is counted with a code made from your connection that changes every day and can't be traced back to you. See our privacy policy.
Links and availability
Links to other websites are there for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them. We try to keep this website available at all times, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Using the site properly
You mustn't use this website to break the law, send spam, try to get into parts of our systems you're not allowed into, or introduce anything harmful such as viruses.
Part B · Website design, build, hosting & changes3. Quotes and your contract
- The prices on our websites page are starting prices, and the final price depends on what you need. Before any work starts, we'll send you a written quote (by email or message) setting out what's included, the price and an estimated timescale.
- A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
- Your contract with us starts when you accept the quote and we receive your deposit. These terms, together with your quote, make up the whole agreement. If the quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins.
- Anything not listed in your quote isn't included. We're happy to add it, as explained in section 9.
4. Prices and payment
Our current starting prices are:
- Build: we ask for half of the build price as a deposit to book your project. The rest is due when the site is finished and you've approved it, before it goes live on your domain.
- Hosting: billed monthly in advance, starting from the month your site goes live.
- Changes: charged at £25 an hour for the time spent, or at a fixed price we agree before starting. We'll always tell you the estimate or fixed price first.
- Prices include any VAT that applies.
- Invoices are due within 14 days unless your quote says otherwise.
- If a payment is late, we'll remind you. If it's still unpaid 7 days after that reminder, we may pause work or hosting until it's paid. If you're a business, we may also charge interest and costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- We may change our hosting prices by giving you at least 30 days' notice. If you don't want to continue at the new price, you can cancel before it starts.
5. How a build works
- Free chat: we talk about your business, your customers and what the site needs to do, then send your quote.
- Design preview: we design your homepage and show it to you before the rest is built. Your quote says how many rounds of changes to the design are included.
- Build: we build and test the site on phones and computers.
- Approval and launch: you check the finished site and tell us it's approved. Once the balance is paid, we put it live on your domain.
Any timescale we give is our best estimate. We'll keep you updated, but we're not responsible for delays caused by things outside our control or by waiting for content or feedback from you. Changes you ask for after you've approved a design or the finished site are new work, charged as explained in section 9.
6. Your part
To get your site built on time, you agree to:
- send us the content we need (such as text, photos, logos and business details) and answer our questions within a reasonable time;
- make sure everything you send us is accurate, legal, and yours to use, or that you have permission to use it. You're responsible if anything you supply breaks someone else's rights;
- make sure your site complies with laws that apply to your business, such as having your own privacy notice and making accurate claims about your products and services. We're happy to help, but it remains your responsibility.
If a project is on hold waiting for you for more than 60 days, we may close it and invoice you for the work done so far. We can reopen it later if you're ready, but timescales and prices may need to be updated.
7. Who owns what
- Once you've paid in full, you own the design, text and images we create specifically for your website, and your domain name.
- We keep ownership of our general tools, code, templates and know-how that we use across projects. We give you a permanent licence to use them as part of your website.
- Until you've paid in full, everything we've made remains ours, and we don't have to put the site live or hand it over.
- Photos, fonts, plugins and services from other companies stay theirs, and are used under their licence terms.
- We may show your website in our portfolio and mention you as a customer. Just tell us if you'd rather we didn't.
8. Hosting
- What's included: secure hosting for your website with an SSL certificate (the padlock), security updates and regular backups.
- No long contract: hosting runs month to month. You can cancel at any time by giving us 30 days' notice. We can end hosting by giving you 30 days' notice too.
- Keeping it online: we work to keep your site online at all times, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable, for example during maintenance or problems with internet providers. Where we can, we'll do planned maintenance at quiet times.
- Backups are a safety net, not a guarantee. Please keep your own copies of important content, such as your photos and text.
- Fair use: hosting is for your website only. You mustn't use it for anything illegal, harmful or abusive, including spam, malware, or content that infringes other people's rights. Very high traffic or storage beyond a normal business website may need a different hosting price, and we'll talk to you first.
- Suspension: we may take a site offline straight away if it's being used unlawfully or puts our systems or other customers at risk. We may also suspend it for unpaid invoices, as set out in section 4. We'll tell you why and restore it once the issue is fixed.
- Leaving us: if you move your site elsewhere, we'll give you a copy of your website files and content once all invoices are paid. If you'd like us to do the move, that work is charged at our changes rate.
9. Changes and support
After launch, or when you want something outside your original quote, we charge £25 an hour for the time spent, or a fixed price we agree before starting. We'll always give you an estimate or fixed price first, and won't start until you say yes. There's no monthly minimum.
If something we built doesn't work as described in your quote, tell us and we'll fix it free of charge. This doesn't apply to problems caused by changes made by you or someone else, or by other companies' services.
Search engines and results
We build every site to give it the best chance on Google. Search rankings, traffic and sales depend on many things we don't control, so we can't guarantee particular results.
10. Domains and other services
- Wherever possible, we register domain names in your name. Domain and business email costs are charged separately, and we'll tell you the price before buying anything for you. Renewing them is your responsibility unless we've agreed to manage it for you.
- Some features rely on other companies, such as Stripe for payments, Google for maps and business listings, and email or booking providers. Their own terms and fees apply. We're not responsible for their outages, changes or charges, but we'll help you deal with any problems.
11. Your customers' data
If your website collects personal information from your customers (for example through a contact or booking form) and we host it or process that information for you, you are the controller and we act as your processor under UK data protection law. That means we:
- only use the information to provide our services to you, following your instructions;
- keep it secure and make sure anyone working on it keeps it confidential;
- use only trusted providers, such as our server host, to store it, under terms that protect it in the same way;
- help you respond to people who ask about their data, and tell you without delay if we become aware of a breach;
- delete or return the information when our services end, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- give you the information you reasonably need to show you're meeting your obligations.
12. Cancelling
If you're a consumer
You have 14 days from the day your contract starts to cancel for any reason. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you'll pay for the work done up to the point you tell us. If we've finished the work within the 14 days at your request, you can no longer cancel. To cancel, just contact us (see section 16).
If you're a business
You can cancel a build at any time by telling us. You'll pay for the work done up to that point, and the deposit isn't refundable once work has started.
Hosting
Hosting can be cancelled with 30 days' notice, as set out in section 8.
If we need to end the contract
We may end the contract if you don't pay or seriously break these terms and don't put it right within 14 days of us asking. If we end a contract when you're not at fault, we'll refund anything you've paid for work we haven't done.
13. Our responsibility to you
For everyone
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
If you're a consumer
We'll provide our services with reasonable care and skill. If we don't, you can ask us to put it right, or in some cases to reduce the price. We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable. Our services are for personal use under these terms, so we're not responsible for any loss of business or profit.
If you're a business
- We're not responsible for loss of profits, sales, business or goodwill, loss or corruption of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you for each project or hosting service is limited to the amount you've paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim.
- The implied terms in the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 still apply, except where these terms say otherwise.
14. Our other services
Each of our other services and products has its own terms, which apply when you use it. If those terms and these ones disagree on anything to do with that product, that product's terms win.
iPhone and iPad apps and games
Diag Drive, QuoteM8, Snack Empire, Carnival Champs and Bricks And Ballz are downloaded through Apple's App Store. Your use of them is covered by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, unless the app shows you its own terms, and by any terms or privacy information shown in the app or on its App Store page. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
Roblox games
Paws After Dark and Midnight Market are played on Roblox. The Roblox Terms of Use and community rules apply, and any purchases made with Robux are handled by Roblox under its terms.
Part D15. General terms
- Changes to these terms: we may update these terms from time to time. The version in place when you accepted your quote applies to that project. For hosting, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any important change.
- Events outside our control: we're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If that happens, we'll tell you and do what we can to limit the effect.
- Transferring the contract: we may transfer our rights and obligations to another business, and we'll tell you if we do. You need our written agreement to transfer yours, but if you're a consumer we won't unreasonably refuse.
- If part of these terms isn't valid: the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing straight away: if we don't insist on something straight away, we can still insist on it later.
- Other people: this contract is between you and us. Nobody else can enforce any of its terms.
- Law and courts: these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be taken to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
16. Complaints and contact
If something isn't right, please tell us so we can put it right. We'll look into every complaint and reply as quickly as we can.
